Rwanda is a small country with a lot of coffee character. Most of it is grown by families on small farms and brought to a nearby washing station, a shared mill where the cherries are processed. Almost all of it is Red Bourbon, a variety prized for its sweetness.
Rwandan coffees range from bright and fruity to soft, sweet and tea-like, and we lean toward the sweet end. We roast to keep that sweetness front and centre. Lovely as a pour-over or from a drip machine.
